Grandpa Luigi and Gorgonzola Cheese
Grandpa Luigi had a big, bushy
Italian mustache. Little Joey, always the mischievous one, waited until Grandpa
was taking his afternoon nap on the sofa. Quietly, he tiptoed to the
refrigerator, pulled out the smelly Gorgonzola cheese, and smeared a little
right onto Grandpa Luigi’s mustache.
Later, when Grandpa woke up, he
sniffed the air and frowned.
“This living room, she smella bad!” he grumbled.
He walked into the bedroom.
“Dis bedroom—she smells awful too!”
Then he went into the kitchen.
“Mama mia! The whole house, she smella bad!”
Just then, Grandma Peppina came
home.
“Whatsa wrong wid you?” she asked.
“Why didn’t you cleana da house? And how
come you smella bad too?”
She took one look at Grandpa and saw
the culprit.
“Come witha me,” she said, leading him out to the front porch.
“Whaddaya gotta say now, Luigi?”
“The whole world,” he declared, “she
smells bad!”
Grandma Peppina crossed her arms and
said,
“Go look at your face in the bathroom mirror, Luigi.”
Before we go judging the world—thinking everything and everyone looks or smells bad—maybe it's time to take a good look in the mirror.
See any “Gorgonzola cheese” there?
